A. A smart man learns from his own mistakes but a wise man learns from the mistakes of others. Some of course never learn. If your ego is so tender that you cannot bear to hear the guidance of someone that has found out from experience why something should be done a certain way then your only avenue to acquiring this information is to spend the time and take the damage of learning it the hard way. Since your lifetime is not long enough to experience all the things someone else did for a lifetime first and then do it all over again correctly you simply wont progress. This is not a superiority thing... it is common sense.

How can we help high school seniors know what they want to study before they begin their college career?
Q. Im doing a research paper on why people change their minds about their careers, so much in college. I have realized that there is nothing being done to help, from kids to graduating high school seniors, know what they want to do, and stick to it. Most are going into college with no idea of what they want to study. Some have been in college past their basics and STILL have no idea. Does anybody have any ideas on what schools, parents, society, can do to help these kids?

A. Where I go to college, the students can come in and take a career test. It evaluates their interests and lets them know what occupational field would be best suited for them.
