A. Depends on what the docs found. You may have needed more or less support than the c-collar they first gave you. Some aren't great for longer term use, they are too uncomfortable for that.

What happens in a car accident of this nature?
Q. I was in an accident, i (person A) am driving a vehicle that i do not own, the owner (person b) however has lability and full coverage to top it off. I also have liability and full coverage to top it off, but that car is not listed on my policy, because i dont own it. Now lets say i get into an accident and need to pay for damages to other objects (well just say person C), as well as for the vehicle i crashed.(owned by person b) WTF?
Asked by sandynlily - Wed Feb 18 23:45:56 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In Texas, liability follows the vehicle. Assumption: you have the permission of B to driver their car. If you hit person C while driving Person B's vehicle, B insurance will be responsible for the damages. If that policy is not substantial enough to cover the damages in full, your insurance will be excess and pick up where B left off. B's insurance will pay to fix B's car, subject to the deductible.

Q. I was in a car accident, hit from behind by a commercial box truck, and have developed sever carpal tunnel in both hands. It's been ongoing for 3 years now, and I've had surgery on both wrists, but the symptoms remain. What kind of settlement should I be expecting from this lawsuit? Thank you.

A. it kind of depends, where you do live? Also, is it irrefutably the other guys fault, I mean can any of the blame be put on you? And are you looking for restitution for loss of income or just payment due to emotional stress or whatever it is called? And if you are also looking for restitution for loss of income, it all depends on what you normally earn.

If the Carfax report shows accident but title is clean I mean no salvage title then is any risk of buying car?
Q. Also what about the insurance? Is the insurance will be higher than non-accident cars?
Asked by GSM N - Fri Dec 28 23:18:56 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I would have the vehicle checked out by a reputable body shop to find out the extent of the damage and if it was repaired correctly. If the damage was not severe and the repair was done properly, then you will be ok to buy it. No, the insurance is not more expensive because it had a previous accident. Insurance rates are based off your driving record and how the vehicle does in an accident. If you have any further questions, please feel free to e-mail me. Good luck!

What is the standard procedure after reporting a car accident to an insurance company?
Q. I recently got in an accident where I rear ended someone. No one was injured and there was minimal damage. We have both called our insurance company's and I am clearly the one at fault. I talked to my claim agent and his give me information and recall of the accident. I have now received a letter saying they need me to give my story and all my information again? Is this normal? And what normally happens... I am so worried and unsure.
Asked by Justine R - Wed Jan 20 21:31:56 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yes. The insurance agent helped you report the claim. However, the insurance agent or call center does not investigate the accident. The letter is from the adjuster who is investigating the accident. It is important that you call the adjuster and speak with him/her about the accident. Your policy says that you will cooperate in the investigation of the accident. Failing to cooperate can be grounds for your insurance company to deny coverage. Therefore, you would become personally responsible for any damage/injuries you caused. So...call the adjuster in the morning. The adjuster will probably get a quick recorded interview with you about what happened and may want to get photos of the minor damage to your car. It's nothing to worry… [cont.]

What is the maximum compensation in a commercial vehicle accident?
Q. I was in an accident with a commercial vehicle and have suffered a back and pelvic injury. I am still recovering and have been told that I will have to live with this injury for quite some time... I am in the last leg of my case against the insurance company and am wondering what is the maximum compensation for a commercial vehicle accident???
Asked by JailBait27 - Wed Jul 29 03:57:37 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Hiya: The maximum compensation is the coverage limit stipulated in the policy providing the coverage. So, for example - if the commercial policy only has $100,000 coverage...that is the maximum you can recover under their policy. Some commercial policies have excess coverage but excess coverage is only triggered under certain circumstances so - no sure bet there. If you have UNDER insured motorist coverage (and your claim is worth more than the limits of the primary payer) - you can make a claim through your own coverage as well UP TO the coverage limit. Also, something you should know - some jurisdictions LIMIT the amount you can recover if you try to take the commercial carrier to trial. Hope that helps and hope you're better soon.… [cont.]

What happens if you get into an accident when test-driving a car?
Q. In my experience dealerships don't have you sign a liability waiver. If you are test driving a car and get into an accident, are you held responsible or is this covered by their insurance?
Asked by fringefire - Mon Apr 30 12:04:00 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yep, the dealer has an umbrella policy. If for some reason the damage exceeds that policy, then yours will kick in. Just like if you were driving a friend's car and you were both insured. Most insurance policies cover you and your passengers in any vehicle as long as you have permission to drive it, but insurance still follows the vehicle. This includes rentals, so that extra insurance they want you to buy is useless since yours will back you up.

What should I do after Ive been in a car accident?
Q. I recently had a car accident. My 2007 $22,000 dollar Jeep has over $10,000 dollars in damages! Once my car is repaired I want to trade it in. Do I have to disclose the accident? Also, I talked with a dealership and they will not take it for trade because of the damages. How much should my insurance company owe me in diminished value?
Asked by Chase M - Tue Oct 21 15:23:49 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. "mccoyblues" is absolutely correct. No dealership will take your severely damaged car. The best thing to do is have it fixed by the best people you can find and drive it until it gives you real problems many years down the line. But remember, once a car has been in an accident, it is rarely the same afterwards. It may take some time to get all the little things hammered out but, if repaired properly, you may never be reminded of the accident. You absolutely do need to disclose the accident. Even the most reputable repair shop may not report to Carfax but your insurance company will.

Do I need to report the accident to California DMV if I scratched the rental car?
Q. Do I need to report the accident to California DMV if I scratched the rental car while backing from really tight parking space (no one was injured, no other car was involved in an accident, this accident happened at the place where I live currently)? I still don't know the estimate of the damage to their car, but let's assume it's greater than $750. Thanks!

A. Yes, you have to report the accident to the DMV if the damages are over $750 or if there's any bodily injury. If the insurance company reports this before you do, the DMV will suspend your license for not reporting it.

What happens when you lend someone your car, and they get into an accident? How does the insurance work?
Q. Does the owner's insurance get used, or does the person who was driving the car use their own insurance? Also, is it techically "legal" to let someone else drive your car without putting them on your insurance? What if they just borrowed it once or twice and got into an accident? Does the owner get penalized by his/her insurance company, or will the owner's insurance even cover the accident? Just something I have wondered, especially since I have had to drive my fiancee's car around the past few days since my car is in for repairs. I am not on his policy, and I don't PLAN on having an accident, but I like to be prepared with knowledge. Thanks!

A. Wow! There are quite a few wrong answers to your question. Some people are right on track, though. Insurance follows the car. So the owner's liability coverage would pay up to its limit first and the driver's liability coverage, if any, would pay up to its limit to cover any remainder. Every company and state vary in their coverages. It will affect the owner's premiums. It's best for your fiancee to contact his insurance company to let them know you'll be driving his car. If you'll only have his vehicle for a few days, most likely there won't be any additional premium. Many states do allow people who live together or who are engaged to be on the same policy. This could save you money in premiums and then you wouldn't have to worry about… [cont.]

Cars: If you get into an accident and the only damage is a cracked fender how bad was the accident?
Q. I am buying a 07 Monte Carlo LT. The man I am buying it from said it is a fun car to drive but he cracked the fender. The fender has been replaced but I'm a little concerned about the car. How bad of an accident do you need to get into to crack a fender. Also Even though it was replaced cars are never the same after they have been in an accident.. Would you still buy this car, or search for another 07 Monte. Thanks in Advance.
Asked by David B - Sat Oct 27 09:52:13 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It depends. A cracked fender could have been backing into something pretty hard (or driving into something if it's the front), it could have been hitting a dog or a deer or other large animal, or it could have been a more serious accident in which everything was basically rebuilt. There's not really a way to know unless you take it somewhere and have a mechanic check the engine and other parts (oil pan leaking, etc.).

Can i claim compensation for a road accident as a result of an oil spill?
Q. I had an accident as a result of skidding on a diesel spill. Mine was the only car involved but heavily damaged. The police say it was sufficiently covered but cars were skidding and one other car had crashed. Can i claim compensation? Who is to blame if anyone?

Q. In reality, I know that this accident will only hurt profits for the company a small bit. Is now a perfect time to buy the stock? How much of it should I buy?
