What is a good Homecoming Dance theme to attract both boys and girls?
Q. At my school the homecoming dance is planned by seniors and this is where most of the money for prom comes from. I need a good theme that everybody will like. The theme should be easy to make an assembly script out of. I really need a unique idea and that aren't to cliche.

What do I wear to homecoming if my girlfriend is wearing black with dark silver accents?
Q. My girlfriend has a black dress with dark silver accents, I was going to get a dark silver tie but what color shirt do I wear. would a vest be better for homecoming?
Asked by amlong34 - Mon Sep 21 01:23:34 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You definitely can go for the black suit, black shirt and silver tie combination. It's standard and conventional. Here are a few additional suggestions if you don't want to do the standard: 1.) A vest - you can either go for a solid silver or a black with silver details. 2.) A black tie with silver details (instead of a solid silver tie) 3.) Don't forget the accessories! Cuff links, your watch, socks(!) Have fun at your homecoming! :) You should also as your girlfriend for her suggestions too. She'll know what will go best with her dress.

Q. Im going to homecoming tonight and i don't want to wear a tie and all. We have to dress formal though. So what are some other options that i have? I don't want to wear dress either. A. Black suit with a gray or darker shirt, maybe with a bit of color. If it's a formal homecoming, you really should wear the coat at least, if you're not going to wear the tie. Oh, and as for shoes, there's a reason dress shoes go with suits. Sneakers and suits just don't mix; you really should stick with the shiny black dress shoes. The best kind? If you're worried about comfort, Cole Haans are probably the most comfortable dress shoes I've found so far that don't have sky-high pricetags. Odds are you'll want to stick with your dress shoes. That is, no basketball sneakers, skate shoes, or anything else that has really thick construction. Dress shoes are thin. Anything thicker than, say, half a cm will almost never work. And they should be… [cont.]

What is the difference between Winter Formal and Homecoming?
Q. What is the difference between Winter Formal and Homecoming? I went to homecoming, and now I want to go to winter formal. Should I wear something more conservative or is there anything I should know? I live in a place where the weather is the same year round, so that doesn't matter.

A. People usually take winter formal more seriously where i come from. As in theres corsages for winter formal and not homecoming. People usually care more about the dress they wear to winter formal. It doesnt really matter how conservative your dress is, i would say about the same as homecoming.

A. Watch a siege film. My favourite siege film is 'Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)' - (John Carpenter's original version, not the 2005 remake) It's a great movie to watch in a group. Just make sure to turn off all the lights in your house for maximum effect. :) It's one of those movies that stays with you. Your friends will never forget the night at your house...

How to curl your hair for homecoming at home?
Q. Well, I have my first homecoming coming up and I do not want to go get my hair done at a hairdresser. I am going to have my mom curl my hair and when I do this for other events it usually goes down within 10 minutes. Do you have any ideas on how to make it stay up and look good curly?!?
Asked by vballxsoccerxstar - Sun Sep 28 14:18:02 2008 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments
A. 1. Chi Silk Infusion or Heat Protectant spray 2. Ceramic curling iron 400 degrees (not a Walmart cheapo) 3. Apply a golf-ball size of volumizing mouse. 4. Divide hair up into sections. 5. Take little sections (the smaller the section, the better the curl) and curl, holding for 8-12 seconds. 6. Release the curl and gather it up into a ring or circle of hair about the size of the curling iron's barrell and bobby pin the circle of hair to your head and hair spray. 7. Wait at least an hour or two 8. Before you are ready to go, take all the curls down and spray again... Aerosol spray, NOT liquid! 9. Style, use more heat if it's too curly. 10. Have fun at homecoming Give it a practice run the week before

A. Put stuff on there that you like. Do you play a sport? Involved in singing or Drama? Put stuff on there that is about you and tells people who you are. Put some pretty pictures of you on it of course - for the guys - and then put some photos and stuff on there that shows your real and down to earth, and like every ones friend(maybe something about you doing community service) - for the girls. This way you can appeal to both the girls and guys and get both of their votes. Also, include a paragraph (few sentences) about yourself and come across as intelligent and be sure not to be arrogant! Good Luck!

A. well the polka dot dress sounds nice, but i personally dont think it would be dressy enough for a homecoming dance. you should wear something out of nice material, but not something as fancy as a prom dress. if you go to some department stores, they will probably have some on display and you can get some ideas from that. oh, and good call on not wanting to wear the band uniform...i dont think its a good idea at all. lol. by the way, good luck impressing that cutie! ;-)

What else can seniors do during the homecoming hip hop at the pep rally?
Q. Our school always does a pep rally for homecoming. At the pep rally they play silly little games and my class always wins because we're the biggest (103). The highlights of the whole thing are the hip hop dances. This year I am teaching both dances (the seniors and the faculty) but my goal is to involve all of the seniors even the ones who don't want to dance into at least one part of the hip hop. I need ideas besides just having them hold signs and then walking out with all of the dancers at the end. Please help!

A. Hello, I always suggest eBay to purchase overalls. My personal favorite pair of overalls is one that is made by Tommy Hilfiger, here is a good example of that pair: There are more Tommy Hilfiger overalls on eBay in women's sizes too: ...but that first pair that I show is simple, stylish and VERY comfortable! Plus the denim is tough but soft. If you are going for something easier to get your hands on, I know that WalMart has overalls in the Men's Work-wear isles, that would make it easier to get if you have a bunch of people trying to get the same exact brand/style. Good luck to you!

What homecoming dress would look good on me?
Q. I'm pear-shaped. Big butt, big thighs, kinda big stomach, and practically no boobs. Our homecoming dance is on halloween, so if you have any suggestions for that (with a dress, obviously) it would be nice. And cheaper is always better. :) Thank you!

A. I think you should wear a long dress that goes down to your ankles. Wear granny panties or one of those undies that tighten up your figure on the bottom. The combination of those with the dress will make your bottom half appear slimmer but still curvy and beautiful. (: Make sure the color on the bottom is one single flat color. Too many colors or designs can make it seem wide. Wear something big on top. Try to find a dress with sequins or flowers or something by the boob, so it'll help balance out your top and bottom. If you have long hair, curl your hair and let it loose. It'll also help balance out your frame. (: If I find a good dress, I will edit this post. I hope this helps! Good luck.

A. What is your school's mascot? I really hope you say dragon. Why? Well, because that would make my idea for you more fitting, but even if it isn't a dragon, this could still work. Since you're going with earth's elements and you're going with fire, you could use a dragon that is shooting fire out of it's mouth. You'd have to be creative in doing so, but with enough people on the homecoming committee, I'm sure you could find a way.

Q. So for homecoming this year the theme is the elements. The senior class chose the element fire. Right now we're really stumped on ideas for our float that have to do with fire, does anyone have any?

What is homecoming like and how do I dance with her?
Q. Homecoming is around the corner, and I'm considering asking a girl I like to go with me. What exactly will this entail, I know we have to dress up and stuff, but how do we dance? Is it slow dancing or just mash pits?

A. Congradulations! Homecoming is basically a sex fest with clothes on... The girl grinds on your front and thats about it. There are no personal feelings at all girls bounce around from guy to guy. So to answer? Its neither unless you go to a pohdunk school or a school thats completely goth. Which I highly doubt.

What are you supposed to wear to a homecoming dance?
Q. I go to a catholic school, and my dad thinks that I'm supposed to dress into one of those suits that take a week to get tailored, even though the admission for one student was $7.50. For a private school, what would be the appropriate attire for a homecoming dance? Unless I know, my dad will keep fussing at me.

A. i would suggest a semi-formal something like a dress-down-suit. Wear something so you can keep your jacket off most of the time and still look good. It's not like a senior prom event, but its usually pretty classy.
