A. Economy...McCain has better ideas here. Cutting taxes has ALWAYS increased federal revenue, but the federal government has always spent the increase and more. McCain wants to cut taxes AND cut spending. Obama and Clinton want to increase taxes and spending. This will reduce federal revenue by cutting jobs, and will send the deficit out of control. War on terror. Hillary and Obama are either foolish enough to cut-n-run in Iraq, leaving Iran to overrun Iraq and cause mayhem in the middle east. More likely, they are just lying about cutting out, and would change their tune after the election. John McCain is telling the truth about Iraq. We need to finish the job of training and turning security over to Iraqis, and that will take… [cont.]

What ethical issues are brought up when discussing the following experiments?
Q. The only reason he ended the study early (it was supposed to run for 2 weeks) is because his girlfriend saw some videos of what was going on and threatened to leave him if he didn't end it immediately. It's a good question. How soon after you know that something is harmful to your participants do you need to end the study? How much harm is acceptable, if you think that the harm will be temporary? Would it have been ethical to keep the subjects for another week, and run the risk that things would have gotten really bad, since they could have intervened if anyone's safety was at risk? A. First, nothing in aviation is cheap or easy to implement. To get anything changed, first there has to be a NPRM (notice of proposed rule making) where the public has a chance to respond to (not including emergency rules), then a hearing on how the rule will be implemented, and to whom, and who may be exculded, then a benefit/cost analysis, then a meeting to address how these will be paid for, then a meeting with the FAA to get their feedback, then argued in court by the airlines because they dont want to incur any more costs that will take away from the bottom end, then the increased costs to passengers to recoup some of these new rules. But aside from this, there are a few things that could help, one is having more direct nav flights,… [cont.]

A. One major issue concerning the development and utilization of alternative energy sources is the lack of political will to support such endeavor. In the US, former president Bill Clinton did not submit the Kyoto Protocol (an international treaty which aims to reduce the collective emission of Greenhouse Gases in signatory nations) to the Republican-dominated Senate who opposed the abovesaid amendment. What issues present a real problem to elementary school children?
Q. We all have problems-kids, teenagers, and adults. What types of issues (social and not) do elementary school aged kids have to face?

A. Bullying and changing. I remember when I was in elementry school (I had just moved to a new school/house, and my parents were getting a divorce) the girls used to tease me because I was fat. Thats when I developed my first eating disorder. People thought I was weird. Changes for puberty start to happen close to 4-5th grade, which can be akward and confusing. For the younger kids, its mainly bullying and finding friends.

Q. I'm doing an assignment on media hype, mind control and the use of advertisement as a distraction from world issues. I was just curious of what methods are used by Mass Media to distract people from major issues in the world today.

A. Distraction has long been a tool of the power elite to divert attention from their shady dealings, but I really think in today's society there is much less complicity and much more idiocy. 24 hour news channels have so much time to fill that they almost have to drone on about stupid stuff like what Sasha and Melia wore to school on their first day. Debbie-downer stories like genocide don't attract attention of viewers precisely because they are depressing. Ergo, viewers change the channel and CNN brings in less ad revenues. Therefore, they try to attract and hold your attention for as long as possible with saccharine stories designed to titillate rather than educate. Although, if you want to see something scary, try comparing the pre-W [cont.]
